FOOTWEAR A Flowering of Patterns/足下風情 花團錦簇

　2001 spring and summer fashion sees a flowering of patterns in shoes as illustrated by wide-ranging designs featuring lattice, ornamental floral engraving, print and flowers.

　Old-fashioned costumes boasted in the movie "In the Mood for Love" brought footwear fashion on a trip back in time, reminiscent of the elegant style in the 1980s. As retro makes a pompous comeback, spotlight is on the lookout for exaggerated elegance and nobility tinted with sexiness.

　Feminine touch carves out the season's chic look. Mules carry on as red-hot items. Apart from sandals, soft and comfy old-fashioned bowling ball shoes ascend to the center of attention.

　Shoe heels are taken over by dozens of varieties. Open-toed high-heeled shoes, square-toed single-outsole high-heeled sandals, platform sandals with flower engravings and lattice design, round-headed dolls and modified loafers are just a few of a dazzling array of choices. Meanwhile, soles touting leisure and comfort, and square-toed high heels with multiple sole variations are both in vogue, among which platforms stand out as the most wanted of all.

　This season stresses the blend of bright and white-out colors to produce sensational visual effects. Following last season, fashion still favors colors of cream, camel, bronze, and gold. On the other hand, navy blue, baby pink, off-white, and embroidered and beaded vamps together conjure up a swanky view for this spring and summer.

　In the use of materials, contrast and graduations of fabrics are the focal point. Leather and cloth are fused in unique ways to come out together as a whole new breed of material. Genuine leather, taffeta, fir, rhinestone, paillette and lambskin impressed with lizard pattern all play leading roles in the world of fashion.

　　這一季的復古風極力想表現出仕女的優雅高貴，在80年代誇張中帶有性感的幾何圖案被強力運用。而「女性化風格」是本季最主要的重點。優雅古典的前包後空式拖鞋依舊發燒，花朵的配件以及編織的鞋面襯托出女性的柔媚感，水鑽、珠片則剛剛好點綴出80年代風華。

　　除了一體成型的涼鞋外，本季更加入極具復古感的保齡球鞋，以舒適柔軟為其重點。

　　在復古風潮中，鞋跟的的變化琳瑯滿目，淺口短楦高跟鞋、方頭單底高跟涼鞋、鏤空刻花船型底台、小圓頭娃娃鞋、改良式軟包鞋等不下十數種鞋跟。除此之外，代表休閒風的模子底台和健康底台以及多種跟型的方楦高跟鞋，都是追求流行的您鞋櫃中不可缺少的，其中又以船型底台為今年流行鞋款中的上上之選。

　　色彩方面，明亮的色彩與反白的色彩相互調和，呈現強烈的視覺效果，交織組合出多采多姿的顏色，表現出女性的柔美特質。延續上一季流行色，米色、駱駝色、古銅、金色仍是今年流行的主色，搭上水藍、淺粉、米白，悄悄地帶來春夏的氣息，鞋面上也結合了繡花、鑲水鑽，在平凡中增添一股華麗風貌。

　　在素材的運用上強調對比與層次感，皮革與布料以特殊的方式融合成不同的材質，原質皮革、軟緞布、毛皮、水鑽、亮片、蜥蜴壓花羊皮等，在流行舞臺中各自扮演重要的角色。
