　Black and white spell out the essence of 2001 Spring Fashion as stripes, checks, and geometric patterns jostle their way into dresses, shoes and leather accessories. Plus Hippie's maverick tone, in style for this spring and summer are sharp and sporty items symbolic of independence and self-assertion hailed by modern-day generation.

　As soft and light colors continue to take center stage for the season, however, a storm of black and white sweeps across the fashion arena. Geometric patterns in black and white are the order of the day. Lengthwise and crosswise stripes, checks and diamonds catch the fancy of designers. Even lace and embroidery items fail to escape the charm of monotone. Needless to say, "Blanc et Noir" is the watchword of the season.

　For those in favor of rather colorful spectrum, bright orange, military green, pink, or bright purple might come up as good choices to go with black and white.

　This season's design eyes elegant style with lines that are simple yet full of variations.

　Spring skirts feature slant and asymmetrical cuttings and patterns of stripe or check. A skirt may be pieced together with different fabrics, or made by a striped cloth cut from different angles to produce a flowing effect. Coupled with ingenious asymmetrical cutting, each dress is a unique creation.

　The asymmetrical cutting and the piecing of patterns bring to light yet another chic style of critical importance-Hippie. The street art look and patches of a myriad of colors take us back to the street of New York set in the 1960s.

　Waist is the highlight of this spring and summer. Either dresses showing off waistline or belts that are extremely wide or narrow will give you the hottest look and keep you in style.

　　以往春夏總是沈浸在一片甜蜜粉嫩之中，今年也不例外，但是卻有另一股重大轉變蜂湧突起。尤其是以黑白雙色組合而成的幾何圖形，像是直的和橫的條紋、格子和菱形紋等，許多設計師爭相採用，連蕾絲和刺繡等都可見到黑白色，「黑白配」是今年春夏最IN的裝扮。

　　如果不習慣白黑的絕對無色彩，像咖啡色、艷橘色、軍綠、粉紅和炫紫色等色彩，用來搭配黑白也同樣出色。

　　而在款式上來說，別以為今年春夏流行黑白色，那麼時尚界必定是一片簡約和絕對；事實上整體流行已經走出前幾年的極簡風，而向優雅的華貴派靠攏，線條雖然簡單卻富有變化。

　　像今年春裝許多的裙子上都可以看到相當多斜裁和不對稱剪裁出現，再搭配今年處處可見的條紋和格子的花紋，往往同一條裙子上採用不同的材質拼貼而成；或以同一塊條紋布不同的斜度、組合而成具有流動性的視覺感，加上裙襬前短後長的創意表現，每一件衣服彷彿都成了一件創作品。而不對稱的剪裁和圖案拼貼同時也顯現了另一項重要趨勢，那就是嬉皮風的盛行，這股風潮呈現在服飾上還包括了街頭塗鴉式的文字形圖案、以及多種顏色色塊的拼組，讓人彷彿回到了嬉皮年代的紐約街頭。

　　今年春夏時尚注目的焦點部位放在腰部，所以能強調腰身的剪裁和款式，或是繫條極寬或極細的皮帶，都將使妳走在流行尖端，成為時尚的焦點。
