Two lion cubs arrived at the Shoushan Zoo/
The Shoushan Zoo is having new guests again! After flying for more than thirty hours, the brother-sister pair of lion cubs from South Africa finally arrived at Kaohsiung on the early morning of March 21. They are expected to meet the public at the end of May when the quarantine is completed.
The two lion cubs are first rare wild animals the Shoushan Zoo got from a foreign zoo. Witnessed by Mayor Hsieh and the mayor of Pretoria, the Shoushan Zoo signed a bilateral cooperative agreement with the National Zoological Gardens in March last year. After that, through constant contact and effort for the whole year, the National Zoological Gardens agreed to present the Shoushan Zoo with a pair of lion cubs for display and educational purposes.
