　Kaohsiung boasts an array of popular lounges and bars. A common feature in all the lounges is great food and atmosphere, providing you with a feeling of comfort as if you were at home. Theme parties on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas are also common.

　Smokey Joe's (Zihyou branch)is a Mexican style restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere; it is a great place to enjoy tasty food, a few drinks and a chance to chat with friends. The varieties of different cuisines are served generously and will appeal to all tastes.

　One of the most popular dishes is the "Grilled Chicken Burrito", which is a piece of Mexican thin bread stuffed with grilled chicken, lettuce, black olives and spicy green peppers, topped with Mexican bean paste and shredded cheese.

　Another popular dish is the "Chicken & Rib Combo". Chicken and ribs are marinated for half a day in mixed Mexican spices, as well as rosemary, bay leaves, pineapple sage, paprika, and orange juice. They are then smoked with apple and peach at a temperature of 180℃. After that, put a coat of tomato sauce, barbecue sauce and Tabasco, then put the meat back into the oven until its crispy outside and tender inside. Then the chicken or the ribs will be full of fruit fragrance.

　In southern Kaohsiung, Roof Lounge is very popular among the foreign community, and as the name suggests, is located on the top floor with great views of Kaohsiung.  It is a place with inside and outdoor seating and an elegant, colorful interior. Roof Lounge boasts a warm, South-East Asian feeling where patrons can take in the spectacular night view from their comfortable sofas. Furthermore, there is a private dancing area where customers can hold private parties.

　The restaurant is open for dinner from 18:00~21:00; customs are able to choose from a wide variety of dishes featuring particularly Thai cuisine: Crabs in Spicy Curry, Shrimp Pancakes, and Sour & Spicy fish soup are among the specialties on offer. "Lounge Time" kicks off at 21:30. Music in the restaurant includes jazz, blues and house.

　　高雄有許多深受好評的夜店，它的美食，它的氛圍，都讓人享受在家般的輕鬆自在，如萬聖節、聖誕節等許多特別的節日，都會舉辦特別的special party。

　　位於北高雄的冒煙的喬(SMOKEY JOE'S)自由店，遠遠就可以被城堡式建築和朱紅亮眼外觀所吸引，搭配店家精心妝點的濃濃綠意，讓人無法抗拒這個國度的熱情魅力。

　　店內風格走美墨南方渾厚風情，氛圍讓人可以完全放輕鬆，自在的聊天，大口吃著美食，想更high就再喝些小酒，融合傳統與創意的義大利、墨西哥、美式以及中式小炒等料理應有盡有，份量絕對讓人飽足，口味更是百變。

　　墨西哥軟皮雞肉捲，是許多老客戶的最愛，墨西哥薄餅夾著碳烤雞肉、美生菜、橄欖及青辣椒，淋上墨西哥辣豆醬及灑上起司。另外，雞肉與肋排雙拼也同樣深受喜愛，先用迷迭香、月桂葉、鳳梨鼠尾草、紅椒粉及柳橙汁等墨西哥香料醃製半天，以蘋果木及桃木、用攝氏180度的溫度煙燻；之後在表層塗抹上蕃茄醬、烤肉醬及Tabasco辣椒醬等醬汁，再放入烤箱內烘烤。這樣烹調的雞肉與肋排表皮酥脆，而肉質鮮嫩多汁，且散發著濃厚的果香味。

　　南高雄有一間外國人常會選擇歡聚的頂樓夜店，店名就叫做屋頂(Roof Lounge)，該店同時擁有室內座席及室外天井，佈置典雅、色彩豐富，整體氛圍充滿溫暖的南洋風情，從舒適的沙發座位，可以直接眺望高雄的美麗夜景。此外，還另有私人舞池，在獨立空間辦PARTY，不會干擾到其他客人，可以玩得很盡興。

　　屋頂提供多國飲食選擇，包括泰式料理、馬來風味餐、印尼和雲南菜等，同時更可享用威士忌、各式酒類、香檳及調酒。餐廳播放的音樂種類有爵士、藍調以及浩室音樂(House Music)。

　　晚上六點到九點半是晚餐時段，以賣泰式料理為主，特別推薦咖哩辣紅蟳、椰汁鯛魚、月亮蝦餅、酸辣鮮魚湯等招牌料理，九點半之後則變為lounge時段，涼拌海鮮、勁辣花枝條、浪漫菲力、和風燒肉等，是超人氣下酒菜。
